  • Get people to a safe place in an orderly manner.
    Sound Alarm & give Verbal Command to get out.

  • Call 9-911. Ensure people are out and doors closed

  • Assemble in main parking lot, map

  • The ALL CLEAR can only be given by the fire department, if they have been called, or by Emergency Coodinator if not.

ONLY the fire department has been specifically trained to determine when it is safe to go back into a building. Your TA and professor have NOT BEEN TRAINED.

exitWHEN YOU ENTER A ROOM OR BUILDING - BE AWARE OF:

  • Exits and pathway out of lab, office, library, etc.

  • Fire extinguishers, eye washes & safety showers

  • Hazards of the chemicals around you

  • Storage on your bench, lids & covers

  • Electrical, flames, water baths, cylinders, spray cans, contact hazards, contaminated surfaces

  • Other hazards near by (What the other guy is doing)

YOU MAY HAVE TO DO THIS IN THE DARK OR BLINDED!
